90's Love Back as 'Nintendo' Intends to Launch the 'NES CLASSIC EDITION'

Nintendo is releasing the Super NES Classic Edition on September 29th. For $79.99, you'll be able to own a little piece of nostalgia, AKA a piece of your '90s heart.

The system will be preloaded with 21 popular games, which is a smaller library than the discontinued NES Classic — but it certainly beats buying 21 individual games and having no where to store them.

Just like the NES Classic, you'll be able to play retro Nintendo games in high-definition, over HDMI with two included wired controllers. So you'll be able to play multiplayer games right out of the box (Nintendo charged $10 per extra controller for NES Classic).

The new system is just like the original home console, only smaller. But it'll have the same level of awesomeness.

These 21 classic games will come pre-installed, including the never-before-released StarFox 2:

>>   Contra III: The Alien Wars
>>   Donkey Kong Country
>>   EarthBound
>>   Final Fantasy III
>>   F-ZERO
>>   Kirby Super Star
>>   Kirby's Dream Course
>>   The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
>>   Mega Man X
>>   Secret of Mana
>>   Star Fox
>>   Star Fox 2
>>   Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
>>   Super Castlevania IV™
>>   Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts
>>   Super Mario Kart
>>   Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
>>   Super Mario World
>>   Super Metroid
>>   Super Punch-Out!!
>>   Yoshi's Island

NES Classic Edition units were hard to come by — partly because fans and resellers were quick to swoop them up, but also because Nintendo only released a limited amount. Nintendo promises to produce "significantly more" SNES Class Edition systems. Shipments are expected through the end of 2017.

You'll be able to buy directly from Nintendo here, but your best bet is to find retailers offering preorders, like Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart, and check back often until the preorder pages go live.
