The MTN BIS trick working with psiphon before stopped working and we have worked on the url server to make it work. The web.blackberry.com proxy url server has been blocked/ had an error and it fluctuates and gives disturbing time to user. Here is the new proxy configuration below.
Firstly on this trick you need to subscribe for the MTN BIS plans. Here is how to;
You can opt-in MTN BBLITE plan by dialing any of the below USSD code, depending on which you want to subscribe for.
>> *216*3*1# for Daily data plan, costs #70.
>> *216*3*2# for weekly data plan, costs #350.
>> *216*3*3# for monthly data plan, costs #1,000.
After this subscription, wait for a confirmation sms from the network to confirm your subscription to the BBLITE plan.
1. To get Psiphon handler for your Android device, visit HERE.
2. Go to your phone network settings > more > cellular network > Access point names. Then, create another APN. Set your APN to web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net, 127.0.0.1 as your proxy and 8080 as your port and leave other setting empty. You can use any name for it to recognize it from the default configuration and don't forget to set it as your default configuration.
3. Configure your Psiphon below;
Incase for those using it before, you will only need to change your proxy server from web.blackberry.com to proxy servers below.
> Tick remove port
> Proxy Type: Dual Real Host
> Custom Header: X-Online-Host
> Proxy Server: uk.blackberry.com or us.blackberry.com or ping.blackberry.com
> Real Proxy Type: HTTP
Save it and go to more options,
Cick connect through an HTTP proxy
Tick: Use the following network settings
Host Address: 10.199.212.2
Port: 8080
Go back to your Handler menu and choose United States as your region.
Click connect and you are good to go.
